Goodnight Galwayman.....

Ive just been reading something interesting imo......

Michael Gross who is a biochemist states that:
"In the early stages of a 'relationship' chemical messengers communicate romantic feelings between humans. It is the only thing that science can offer as a real-world analogy to Cupids Arrows."

Elise39: So then, what is chemistry?...I really think I just haven't every had that. Is it possible that some people just don't have that? I think I was born without that... Oh well, lived this long with out it..I'm fine. Obviously it isn't needed by everyone...

The word "Chemistry" (for me anyway) captures the (rare) combined energy of two people who desire each other. A one-sided energy (all too common !) is lusting after/ being besotted with/ unrequited love/ whatever other words people use.

Chemistry is not something one person has/ has not - it's what two people have together.

Be patient Elise, all good things come to those who persevere........

Afternoon folks..............

I don't get this chemistry thing either!

I am either attracted to a guy, (Which is a rare feat in itself!) or I'm not!

I either desire somebody or I don't, it's that simple............Well............

Then my brain kicks in.......................

laugh laugh

GG............as always, I enjoy your posts......... hug

Elise..........Didn't think I'd ever feel as you do about something, but I do...........

Had great chemistry and attraction with a guy for seven and a half years..........but we couldn't work out our issues...............

So......................

Am still in a dilemma..................

What does work?!?

Alright...so I am right then....chemistry is not something that can happen in the first few dates..really, you have to kinda feel it as you get to know a person.professor ...and yea it takes more than that to make things work Minx...it takes commitment and determination...but the other person has to be just as commited...I hope one day God will put one of these men in my path along with this elusive CHEMISTRY...lol

Ok, ok..so I'm not broken...My chemistry button works...just mine is labeled differently...under "getting somone" Like some people "get" me and others don't wait to....ok

I'm OK....I'm OKapplause cheering banana yay

I don't think the expressions used are all that important, I would usually call it magic, rather than chemistry, chemistry sounds a bit too logical to me.
I call the entire emotions associated with relationships magic, as long as they work for both partners. How or why two people together sometimes get in tune is beyond logic to me, but when I hit the same note as another person I know and all going well, she knows too.
Magic is more environmentally friendly too.

tis isnt it. I suppose at the end of the day, once you meet your special one chemistry, lust, love and whatever else all comes together as one.

I asked my mum not that long ago as to how she and dad are so long together. the simple answer she gave was that he completed her and vice versa in every way. (now there was some thoughts in there that you cant really associate with your parents).

So when all is said and done, all criteria should be as flexible as possible as however will you ever tell who is that special one if you shut out all the possiblities.

Wow...every question I had was answered in that...thanks! I know now I have had chemistry, within relationships...holding on to it is what is hard. Again, finding someone to make it a priority within the realtionship ....after you've been together 5 years...is what I'm looking for. And as I said before...I think respect is key..thanks again.wave

Howya. I think you just hit the nail on the head there. Without respect for each other, there can be nothing else.
