Do men like independent women or not? (119)
I would expect that independence would just be another characteristic to assist in the making or breaking of a romance, rather than a pre-qualifier, like gender?

Well think of it this way.....if a guy didn't have a job, car, home and relied on you to for everything and expected you to pay for everything, you would call him a deadbeat, right?
But you like to feel needed once in a while too, right? Everybody likes to be spoiled once in a while but hate being taken for granted.
Some men find independent women intimidating but that's only if the man feels he is not needed. I think the important thing is to strike a balance. JMO

That's why I posted it. I can't understand what it is that men want/don't want. No wonder I'm still single. If I say I'm independent they run a mile cos they're "intimidated" cos I pay my way in the world.

Well i tried but was called confusing so I'm staying quiet from now on 
Needy or independent? What difference does it make? Either way it is only one part of the whole person and I think there are more important attributes to be looking for.

In response to: lol. me saving. ha. Nah. From my experience any woman has the ability to be both at some stage in a relationship and as such it is not something that any bloke should pay attention to and let it be an excuse for not exploring the possibilites of a relationship.
As to whats more important, i def believe it is for more important to look for a person who is happy in their own skin and be able to enjoy their situation no matter what it is.
