I hope she meant start new one per day, not actually post to an existing one once per day.

Each person could only start one thread per day.
Would not want to put any restriction on the number of times a person can post a day.........well.....rolling on the floor laughing

In all fairness, there are only a handful of posters that do this. Don't we already have enough rules?

Might also be nice to have a feature to control the duplicate threads as well.

but sometimes the duplicate threads have different posts off different people which can be useful

True, but some of the handful seem to totally smother out others, so what's another rule, most are not enforced here anyway.

Yes, but would it not be nice to have a less fragmented view of peoples views or babble for us all to enjoy.

I completely agree with you. Would it not make more sense for CS to contact those abusers personally. I think limiting to only one thread is a bit extreme. There has to be a happy medium.

I think that would be an ideal solution, if not maybe just two threads per person per day.

Hi Deborah

Everyone makes a good point on this thread. Langley posted in a thread awhile back, that the posts show you alot about that person. I agree - just see lonely people who have no one else to talk with. They post here looking for a little companionship. And yes somedays that does get annoying to others. But when I am annoyed, I figure it's just me having yet another menopausal moment.

I don't disagree with debs, I did say it may be nice to have a less fragmented view, which may happen if there were not quite so many threads repeated so soon.
Also I have said before I enjoy both views and a lot of the babble.

I like the idea. I wrote it in as a suggestion (e-mailed the staff) several weeks ago.

I am a software engineer/designer for a living, and suggested a couple of other things, too:

* Put the search bar across the top of the screen so people will know it's there.

* A "NOT LOOKING" choice for those "just here for the forums" that would appear under the screen name and town of the thumbnail picture in the forums.

Just lemme at the code! grin

Or ... the ones who post often will read this thread and stop.

I was on a different site where moderators went through daily and deleted posts that weren't worded properly or locked threads labeling them "REDUNDANT". Many times I had threads deleted and never really understood why.

There is a problem with this... most members do not care to participate in the forums for they are private with their feelings and do not desire to share their thoughts with the world...

The threads will die as surely as flower would without water and sunshine if they are limited...

Threads should be sent to the right area for the most part and then they are easily found...

For the most part on here there is only the regulars that post, while new people attempt at posting redunant threads they are crucified for not knowing that they are redundant since this is their first rounds in forums...

All one can do is keep posting and it is hit and miss.....grin
