I joined the site in January this year. After spending another Christmas and New Year single I decided it would be my last one without someone. So I thought I would be proactive. I thought that by joining a dating site I would be cutting out the guessing, I mean surely anyone on a dating site would be there because they wanted to meet someone to build a relationship with? Why else would you join?
I didnt envisage that I would make the friends that I have and I will be forever grateful for that.
I have had a brilliant time, travelling to Glasgow and Sorrento for meets. And making some great friends at local meets.
I do however ask the question, why not say on your profile that you are here to improve your social circle? we can all relate to that, so just be honest, if you are not ready for a relationship just say so.

Why would this year be any different to any other New Year? I think that some of us who joined in the hope of building a relationship have perhaps excepted that this is a social site not a dating site.

I stepped away from CS a while back, having reached the same conclusion (that CS was essentially a networking site), and because that was no longer my need. But I am compelled to step back just one more time to respond to this posting.
Yes, as I see it, CS is essentially a networking site. A great networking site though, full of nice, interesting, people. A lot of it shallow maybe in terms of getting to know people. But then nothing can ever replace making love to a woman as a way of getting to know her (and me).
That said, it can be a dating site. I dated one woman who I met through CS. But she is an incredible woman, a beautifull woman with a huge heart. And we are still friends, for which I am also very gratefull.
My regards to Sue, a classy woman too. Her famous posting about the ten things that men should know about women was the best, the most real, the funniest, posting on CS ever !.
With all of that said, its time to saddle up and start chatting up strange women at bus stops (no, its ok, am not that desperate. Or that wierd !)
