I copied and pasted mail that was sent to me to a girlfriend cause I thought it was genuinely really nice! Anyway my girlfriend is like geeze woman someone is trying to scam you and please be careful ect! The thing is its not mail from Nigeria or Russia or those kinda countries! The only red flag I had at the time was when he said I love your profile cause you are so happy ect! Well for starters my profile is very short and Im quite strong in what I have to say LOL! My girlfriend is wanting me to report this person as a scammer yet Im a person who feels that jumping to conclusions about someone is also wrong! I definitely have no personal feelings for this person so its not as if Im making excuses.. He mailed me once and Im yet to respond! So how does a person figure out these kind of people especially when I havent been asked for money ect?
You really don't know for sure that this man is a scammer so I would respond and see what comes out of it.Ask him what makes him think your non descriptive profile is so great ? I really think all this scam business is way too exaggerated since I had a few of them too and dealt with it.Let's face it there are in depth people and superficial people on this world.Just make sure before you trade any personal info that you talk to a genuine person. Pete

I can't give you mich advice really as I haven't been scammed yet, other than to say trust your instinct......
If the person is of interest to you, reply and try to suss him out......
If hes not you can either reply and say your not interested and then block him, or just block him........
The block feature will stop any more communication comin thru from that person to you........
I have had a few scammers and it becomes very obvious quickly. When they are from faqr away and also tell you that they travel a lot and are going to a foreign country on a construction project or some other business, then be very suspicious. When they immediately want to get you on IM, and when they want you to send them pics, be very suspicious and DO NOT give any personal information to thm at all or pics a they will take it and create another peofile using your pic and information to scam others with. Scammers all have same pattern. If you are still fooled, when they ask you for money, you will have yur answer and pls report them so they can't get money from anyone!! I get a lot of laghs setting them up in their own game. I even ask them for money once I know they are a scammer!
Once you know the signs, the advice page here is good.
But here a few pointers that I have come across in my experience.
1. They woo you with words, often in broken English. 'You are beautiful, I want to know you, please respond to my yahoo account'
Do not respond, delete and report to the mods.
2. They are often from overseas, far away at the other side of the world.
3. The above being said, there are organisations that work with these people, who are in the US and in Europe.
4. They will try to IM you, want your messenger address immediately and give you their email address immediately.
I delete these, simply becasuse there is no way, even they are true to their word, that I am going to have a relationship with a person in Pakistan or India.
Concentrate on the ones closer to home, who contact you, who speak the same language as you, so that you are clear about the messages.
That is not to say that all people from Asia are this way, there are many good people, many.
Be prudent and on the ball, there are a few people here that have given money to people that have had a relationship with them, and that is sad.
Thing is, never to give money to anybody.
Go with your gut instinct, you seem a smart lady, if it does not feel or look right, it is probably not.
The country of origin is immaterial i had been taking to an English guy for weeks before i was asked for money, these sites are there prayers answered and they are professional con men. I would suggest you give it time talk to him, but just be careful if he is a scammer he will give himself away but it may take time

Yes, Morgan I do agree with you.
It is irrelevant, but certainly, it is more likely that it will be from overseas.
I have never been asked for money here, I do not respond, only to the people in the forums.

Good for her, she sounds an astute lady...
Wait till a man who is decent and honest tells you, it will not suck, it will be fabulous.
morgan5: Hi Sommer i agree and was quite shocked when it came from a British guy, reported him and he was removed, like you i am only here for the forums now.
I like being here for the forums only, it is much easier.
You gonna and got yourself one of them there, man fingies???
