I was just wondering what you guys think is the reason why the forums are so habit forming and also there is really only a few who partake and maybe a few that only read them , I cannot answer this about myself and made think of this thread, so all comments are welcome and of course the funny onesdunno

Honestly, Jessejess, I have to tell you that just glancing around the site and seeing what's been written, I have no desire to participate.

The reason is that so few people actually know how to write. It's not about being "proper" as much as being well-read. When people can't spell, or they use apostrophes and contractions incorrectly, use bad grammar, etc. it reveals to the rest of us that this person must not spend very much time reading. People who read know how to write; people who don't read don't know how to write. It's really that simple.

I'd rather date a man who reads, because then I know he is well-informed, and can therefore think for himself, come to his own conclusions, have something substantial to say, and not just be part of all the "chatter".

I see I do not read much ,well I do here of course, but I watch the history channel daily and have my veiws on may subjects. I was never a good engish student but I try and you know, does that really measure a persons worth ? Thanks for the response, this has been here for some time nowlaugh
