I have a major problem though with that they're portraying. They're conflating obesity (which in most circumstance is a lifestyle choice) and women that might have had marks, or scars or things that were out of their control.
And lastly.... where's the men.

Some of the comments in the Huff post seemed like they were posted by CS users. I'm with you betty. Almost everyone say's beauty is only skin deep but we expect to 'page three' girls only on billboards and advertising. Yet most women aren't size8/10, they are size 14/16 or more.
Even a lot of the models used in glossy mags are photo shopped before they hit the high street news stands.
And fair dues to the women in the pics for doing what they did..

Why would you be surprised? The medias notion of an attractive human sells! That's why advertising companies use them. They sell. They are also, more or less, real, notwithstanding graphical modifications. They just in small quantities. In this country. And a few others.
BTW, there's a strange hypocritical message here. Most of their photos of these imperfect women, are styled with less than pale skin. That's a superficial trick that every vain bodybuilder knows... darker bodies look nice.... so if they really were going to show us that imperfect body, they would loose the fake tan or colourenhancers, or special lightning. And show us them women in the natural pale selfs, in proper natural light or close.
They would look even more imperfect.

More than half the women pictured are unhealthily overweight.
While I agree that the whole size zero thing is wrong and puts ridiculous pressure on young people I think saying that fat is anything other than bad for our health is equally wrong.

What we perceive as beautiful in the western world a tribe in brazil or some African tribe would consider hilarious, or ugly.

Have you seen beautiful women in Brazil or Africa? I can assure you... beauty follows a few evolutionary rules across the races and cultures. A locally beautiful woman in africa or brazil will look just as beautiful here, notwithstanding personal preferences.
It's been tested with babies reactions anyway, long before they get to the point where media or culture informs them.
