Marriage is what you make of it. If you are both terrible partners, it's going to be a terrible marriage. A good marriage takes good partners.

It's that plain and simple. Any relationship be it a friendship, work, parent and child or a couple in live, is going to take work and is never easy. 90 % of the time, a marriage does not work, because of the 2 people in the marriage. The other 10, is the outside influences the couple allow into their lives to help ruin the relaionship.

Why they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.
~Matthew 19:6~
This scripture puts the importance of marriage and it's advantage into perspective for me.angel

In memory of Oscar Wilde who passed away on November 30th. 1900:
“Don't give a woman advice; one should never give a woman anything she can't wear in the evening.”

This is from a news article and thought it was worth sharing.

DEAR AMY: I enjoy your rational and useful responses to your readers. I felt blessed reading "Seymour's" letter about his long and happy marriage.

This spring my perfect husband of 63 years passed away. He was 91 and I am 88.

Newlyweds could benefit from a column on successful marriages. My contribution would be:

1. A careful selection at the outset (remember the butterflies).

2. Great chemistry is essential. This nurtures mutual admiration and affection.

3. Partners must be content and fulfilled in their careers.

4. Healthwise: no smoking and moderate alcohol.

My idea of heaven would be a rerun of our life together. -- Jacqueline

DEAR JACQUELINE: Thank you so much for your inspiring and lovely story. What a testament to a long and happy union!

Your idea of heaven is very appealling, too

Brew01: Getting married is like going to the restaurant with friends. You order
what you want, and when you see what the other fellow has, you wish you
had ordered that.

After leaving a 29 year marriage 3 years ago...not interested in getting married again. LOL I guess it is an individual choice..just my opinion. Can't think of what benefit there would be to remarrying.
