Azathoth

It roams the corners of the spiritual world,
seeking the ones that are lost.
The eater of souls like a ravenous shark,
it's name is Azathoth.

It is said when you die there is a bright light,
a guide to the pearly gates.
But if you choose to avoid that beacon,
beware, for Azathoth awaits.

Is Azathoth real you might ask,
but who am I to say.
If you don't believe, avoid the light,
and become Azathoth's prey.

I intend to turn my back,
from the guided light and path.
Then stand before the creator and know,
how I must suffer his righteous wrath.

Instead I will haunt the earth below,
and always be on guard at night.
When Azathoth comes to devour my soul,
I will stand and fight the good fight.
