A Letter
Author: Unknown
For now I'm just sitting here... contemplating... I feel cold. The solitude is almost unbearable, but intoxicating at the same time. I'm waiting... and waiting... the only thing that gives me comfort is the beautiful full moon in the sky, and all the little stars accompanying her.
Don't you see? They're watching us, watching our fairy tale to unfold!
Come, the stage is set, everything is ready.
"Dim the lights!" "shhh!" the stars whispered.
I know you're out there, thinking of exactly the same thing.
I know one of these days, you'll arrive, and we may dance under the moonlight...
But for now, I'm waiting... patiently.
I see plenty of by-passers walked by...
and I ask hesitantly, over and over again, "are you looking for someone?"
Though so far, the answer has been "no", and I'd always feel sad and disappointed.
Yet I remain here, wondering whether my question has any meaning, wondering when the grand finale is scheduled.
But I know you're out there, for all our audiences are still waiting, patiently.
And hence I'll wait, patiently too.
"I love you, my dear, and I'm waiting for you", I whispered, hoping that the wind will find you sooner than I do.
I know you'll get my message, and I'll wait here patiently, just like I promised.
