Release

The shadows have all gone,
The pain has had to flee,
Leaving only what; was ever meant to be.
I see the world before me,
I see the light within,
So with open eyes I now embrace,
What I have never been.

The sorrow that has held me,
Drowning in despair,
The tears that never ceased,
But seemed to fill the air;
Could my soul no longer bare.
And in their place before me,
In the place I hold so dear,
Is the life that binds,
The life I never knew was here.

When we release we see things more clearly and can embrace openly what comes next. Enjoyed reading.

Great write Thumblina
Great rhythm throughout, hinting at the pain that "was" and the hope that "is"
Sounds also that you have reached a desirable place in life where the future is once again bright.
Inspiring ;)
