I met this man once and I thought we really had connected But, I was just one number of many of whom he had collected Waiting for a phone call of which may never come. Hmm.. wondering does this make me seem dumb? See, I'm So wide open from our conversations and feeling compatibility Hoping he might be that one, the special one for me Undressing him in my minds eye Putting his last name with my First Longing for his soulful stare Filled to capacity with anticipation like a dam about to burst So.. I continue to wait Think about him, anticipate and wait These days are slowly turning into a week and no call from my Mr. Right My mate Is my phone on silent or Vibrate? I check my voice mail, I check my land line for a dial tone And everything is as it should be..Except.... You haven't called me

About this poem:
I wrote this poem from a single woman's perspective. But,I believe we all have had a time when we we thought we really vibed with someone and made a connection, only to be disappointed later when those feeling weren't shared by the other party. I wrote this poem in the spring of 2010. It's also been shared with my friends and Family on Facebook.

You might have written this from a single woman's perspective but I can assure you we all have been there. You think you connect on so many levels that it is almost amazing. And then to just to find out suddenly there is nothing there, no further communication. Excellent write.
HI, brownbeauty1975, Yes, while it can be hard being on either side of a one-way connection, I assume it is worse for the one waiting for the call. Nicely captured.
