The End

The End
I wept when our lives were forced to change
I wept when your life drove in yours
And mine took my lane,
I cried when they told me,
I’ll never see your smile again,
I cried when I knew I would never hold the hand,
Of my best friend
I died when I knew your heart,
Would never beat with mine
I died when the life I cared so much for,
Was no longer apart of my time
Until I see you again
I hold you in my heart
My lover, my life, my wife,
My friend,
And
I will weep, cry and die…
My entire life,
Until they,
God,
Tells me,
Rickey,
This
Is,
The End

About this poem:
While serving in the military, I was stationed in Atsugi, Japan. I met someone I thought would be with me for the rest of my life. She got sick and would fall to cancer. She was my heart.

Your poem is so beautiful.
At least she was loved so completely & unconditionally by you,
which is a lot more than some of us can say.
I cried twice reading this poem.
Once for your loss & once because I want to be loved like that
someday.
I sincerely hope you find the sane kind of loving-energy again.
You deserve to be happy & loved.
