FINDING THE NEEDLE IN A HAY Stack THE ONE PERSON IN LIFE YOU LACK ONE CAN SEARCH THEIR WHOLE LIFE LONG ONLY TO SETTLE ON SOMEONE WHO IS ALL WRONG IN YOUR DREAMS YOU MIGHT FEEL A ESSENCE THERE BUT WHEN YOU WAKE ALL YOU FEEL IS DESPAIR YOU MIGHT CATCH A GLIMPSE IN A STRANGERS EYE AS YOU ARE PASSING BY THAT WILL LATER MAKE YOU WONDER AND SIGH LET YOUR SPIRIT ALWAYS HOPE AND DON'T GO AROUND AND MOPE BECAUSE WHO KNOWS?

Hi Lucy,
Yes it is a needle in a haystack. The only thing that is a little encouraging is that nowadays with our modern communication...at least we can find more needles. The downside is that they don't necessarily sew up the rips. Thanks for posting.
Hi, Lucy1777, Two people who are each better together than apart are probably not that rare; but, two people who are the best each can be when together are, more likely, harder to come by. When a relationship truly works, there is no concept of "settling" - it just "feels right". Thanks for sharing.

Beautifully written and very apt Lucy, it's funny sometimes after all the effort we put into looking for that needle we take a rest and sit on the bloody thing.....
Dear Lucy, I love the image... it looks like a Japanese animation ;)
In my mind, I have this quote that may or may not relate to your poetry...
People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life. I don't think that's what we're really seeking. I think what we're seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonance within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive. That's what it's all finally about. ( Quote Joseph Campbell )
Another quote by him "One thing that comes out in myths is that at the bottom of the abyss comes the voice of salvation. The black moment is the moment when the real message of transformation is going to come. At the darkest moment comes the light."

So well written with a hopefulness that we all should hold on to and hope that harvest time comes soon!
very poignant...we can never know if we made the right choice. There could be a person on the other side of the world that would have had that "glimpse in a stranger's eye" that could have snowballed into something magnificent...could have....

Liked poem and peaceful picture, sometimes searching the haystack we do not see the needle in front of our eyes.
Kind of made me laugh to remember my Scottish grandmother and her little blue pin cushion...hahah. I once asked her what this was for.....and she just smiled and told me it was better place to store her pins and needles than on the floor.....great write Lucy....
...and a slim possiblity...searching in a haystack...we might find dung-covered diamonds instead of a needle...who knows? Love your poem Lucy, short and straight to my heart!

Ancient saying: 'He who mocks the hayfield must spend double time in the Dungeon!' Behold! The wrath of the Cafe Whiplash.

Short and sweet with a dash of charisma and a splashing of pragmatism.
