Moments of Space
Would I have stole your colored markers?
Back in second grade of class,
To refuse the lure of envy,
To fall no further than a blade of grass,
Would I have granted you my first kiss?
Full knowledge of checkerboard’s past,
To by-step heartache’s unrequited love,
To realize concept - never destined to last,
Would I have given you my heart and soul?
A marriage of two best friends,
To falter in societal trends,
To lease a house without a picket fence,
Would I have brought you into this physical world?
A flash of insight with your birth,
To forget all that was taught,
To start over; to remove excess girth,
Would I have changed one single experience in life?
Moved a strand that was out of place,
Let the path proceed beneath these feet,
Full of ruts, rocks, and moments of space.

Changing one strand could have change so much further down the line so I imagine for most people they would not change a breath though we often wonder what else would have happened.
enjoyed all that ive read of your work.
...Would I have changed one single experience in life? Moved a strand that was out of place,... My son was able to provide clarity for my answer to this. Thanks for sharing.
