Medicine Woman
Oh wise and trusted spirit
That twists the vines in light of sun,
And causes the rivers to flow and sing,
Bring to me a great love medicine woman
Bringing with you the gift of spring...
Let her smile blossom into flowers,
Her eyes fill with two small pools of water,
Hands so fruitful while passing the hours,
With a voice that brings back childhood dreams
As I see her in shadows of the rising red dawn...
I see her now coming forth with the morning sun rise,
She wears her fur in the glistening snow,
Sweet medicine woman so beautiful and wise,
I drink from your cup of herbal cures,
Let us now share mother earth together...
Your tenderness comes with thunder and lightning,
You bring safe shelter to a place now called home.
Ancient mother, daughter of the storm you bring,
Eyes of wisdom and the spirit of the wolf that roams.
Come now mother, I am part of your pack...
To you I give my years left to live,
For I have never been understood,
Climb into my soul and take what I have left to give,
I am now lying next to you sweet mother of the earth,
Now I am alive and understood, it is why I love you so...
