How times have changed, as I remember As a boy I would be fascinated for hours Playing records on the old wind up gramophone And twiddling the knobs of my Grandfather's Radio receiver, with it's large valves glowing And giving out hums and squeals as I turned The dial backwards and forwards.
As a teenager, I grew up watching television And listening to my stereogram, playing all the Latest songs of the time. In my adult years, I would watch images from The new colour television and quadraphonics Stereo, which was the latest thing around.
I am now middle age, with all this behind me As technology has changed, with computers, Video machines and compact disk players; How I preferred the earlier times, where life Was a lot more simpler place to be.

About this poem:
One of my earlier poems, it tells of how times have changed in retrospect. it reflects different phases of my life.
I too harken back to a simpler time, when tv was free. CDs came out in 1985, I didn't buy my first one till 1999 as I could get tapes down at the pawn show fro a qaurter to two bucks. The money I've spent on the new technology is quite a pile since a vcr/dvd player only lasts a year or two. My old Zenith lasted 11 years.
