Busybody???
Watch the curtain twitch
think of the person behind
some would say a busybody
poking, prying in others life's
Stop and think, maybe not
this could be a lonely soul
someone left behind, now lonely
who's children seldom come
The window now their only way
to feel involved in life
watch others having fun
share just a little of their time
how sad to be reduced to this
not able to get out and about
their only glimpse of life
through that lonely window pane

loneliness is a terrible thing age doesn't matter there are many reasons for loneliness, a one parent, lost teenager,a disabled person, a recluse or an elderly person. I recently started a group and the response since the newspaper article last week has been tremenous. So as you rush about your own busy life take just a moment to stop and think is there anyone near by who would like, a phone call, a visit, taking to the shops or a prescription collecting? any help you give in this way helps so much

not able to get out and about
their only glimpse of life

I have seen them Linda. In the States now holds the highest number of OCTOGENARIANS and long record of life. Not that there is something wrong with it, but let me tell you first hand info. Almost all my relatives are in the business of being a NURSE OR LVN OR OWN THEIR OWN business in ELDERLY housing. The govt. pays so much money on these great long lifers. But some of them are so alone and so lonely, no one wants to come and visit them even as they are registered with so many childrens, etc.etc.
My mom, lived with me until her last breath, generally this is how FILIPINOES are. We stick together through thick and thin until the end. And more often than not, these elderly that we so respect and so love and so adore stay very much happier with us. My children witnessed how I treated my mother and I believe they are making me feel this way albeit I feel younger than them lol lol.
