The Epitome of Loneliness

The Epitome of Loneliness

Love – oh - love where are you
Why must one suffer
Imbedded in loneliness
No one to hold
And none with whom to
Offer their kiss,

Heart why must you wither so
The ache of existence in solitude
Depletes your glow
Leaving you to struggle
With the ineptitude,

Of your lonely station in life
Alone to wither away
To be doomed with no love in sight,

To slowly become a wilted flower
A molten ash heap of past deceit
And lies
Alone to shudder without love
Until at the last the
Lonely and forgotten heart dies.
