Lonesome Road

I remember that night
I drank so much
The bottle felt so light
The past was gone
The future I was loosing sight

On that bar stool
I never felt so alone
Called an old friend
Should have known
He wouldnt be on the other end

You told me you loved me
Id hold you till the morning light
The time came i had to go
Not that you couldn't, You wouldn't follow
That day forward I've walked a lonely road

So a little time had passed
I order another glass
Filled with poison of my past
I hoped that feeling would not last
I would give my life to forget that night

Forgot all about this love of your life
Now you are another mans wife
The night you spoke those two words
In that lonesome bar off of lonesome road
The Bar Back poured the last glass

the last glass is never poured until the reaper calls time my friend.
For if I could have a love that lasts
Then that love is everlasting
