Forgotten

The darkend room
The cold wettnes mildew the walls within
Ice clings to the windows
Decay within

The hanging paper falling
Sliding down
Alone is granny abandond
Sits black white tv hissssss in the corner
Plays but granny canot see

Blindness now controls her lif e
Her trusty white cane now her guide to the darkness
In her life
She sits in her rocking chair, the coal lights fire her only comfort and joy
Kids outside

knock knock the kids play
Oh what a noiusence they are
Deaf ness her only consultation for the harrasment they cause
Granny sit all alone forgotten is she

Sadly this is the lot of many of our elderly folk, to sit alone in houses badly in need of repair, no one cares. Very thought provoking poem Wayne. thumbs up hug purple heart
