What would you leave behind If you could only choose three things? would it be gold, jewellery or some such like? or some of the more mundane things.
Image that you will be on an isolated island what three things would serve you best? would it be clothes, cooking utensils and bedding? all of the above could be of great use.
For me I would take my dogs, large piece of canvas and lastly I would take music, that I could not do without my dogs for company and to hunt for the table the canvas would help fashion a shelter for us all.
The rest would come with time and hard work the sea would supply a great variety of food rich soil to till and grow crops of wheat and corn fruit trees to gather plums, oranges and mangoes
Plenty of wood to gather for fires to cook on I would dig a pit and place rocks in there with a nice flat stone to seal it, let it burn down and hey presto you have an oven in which to bake
Sit back and relax with some coconut wine until the food is ready, tuck in and enjoy the fruits of your labour as you enjoy some music and watch the sunset as dusk falls
So when you stop and think on what to take just remember that nature supplies us with most of what we need, think deep and hard before you decide trappings of life versus nature

Wayne that's four things you can only take three lol tea you could pick for yourself for soap use sand, a twig makes a good tooth brush and you would soon capture a goat or cow for your milk Ty for reading
Lovely piece LShadow. Your poetry is always a pleasure to read and always a joy to find what you have left inside beneath each title. I read them here and there on the soup. Always a pleasure once again, so now what would I leave behind. Hmmm.... I would leave all material things behind and only take love , joy, faith, and all the beautiful people that connect those dots for me. ..Jesse

Well this was thought provoking. I never really thought about what would be the three most important things I would carry if I was left with such a choice. Good piece my friend.

Yes! Certainly the dogs must be there. 'Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace.' ? Milan Kundera-. Shadow, you seem to be a woman of vision. I like the way you see things. Pretty poetry...
Excellent write shadow, I couldn't agree more. Nature is a gift to us all and what we need is bountiful, In abundance...just takes some work. Thanks again for a wonderful challenge,
