Moonset

I gaze deeply into the night sky,
Stars shimmering brightly within my withered eyes,
A beautiful painting on an infinate black canvas,
I wish you could stay for just a while longer,
But over the tree tops and across the way,
The bright burning madness has come to take you away,
Peeking his bald, yellow head over the hill,
Rising above the masses against our will,
I watch in shame as you slowly melt away,
Overpowered by the rules of another day.
