I am watching blindfolded from a distance I know you are hurting I want to reach out and take your hand And let you know That the pain will never fully go away It can only be soothed by time By friends who care By families who are there By those who love.
They say nobody can hear The cries of a broken heart Especially when it is screaming Begging for somebody, anybody To wrap it in a blanket And hold it while it shakes
I know how that pain can feel I have wanted to scream And ask why me What did I do wrong To feel the dull ache Of a broken heart
God, I want you to share But I know it is too much to ask And I want to take that hand But it is not fair to reach out And I want to dry those tears But I dare not touch

About this poem:
I wrote this for a woman whom I had feelings for but could not tell her at the time. We've become great friends and I am happy for that.
