Gone...... But Never Forgotten!

September 11th 2001,Im sure like me youll agree
Will be known in hundreds of years to come, the saddest day in history.
It was on this day at 9am,in a land full of wealth and powers
A hijacked plane crashed into one of the worlds famous twin towers.

People stunned and shocked could not believe, what had just accured,
As news stations beamed live pictures,of this tragedy around the world.
An accident, was the initial thought,as time stood still like a stopwatch
But the truth quickly came to light, when a second plane, crashed into the second tower block.

Live pictures broadcasted across the world, the terror within the skies
Were soon to realise the full extent,at the cost of many innocent lives.
People running around in panic and shock, shaking, screaming crying shout
Whilst the hero rescue teams rushed in,to get these people out.

There stood these two great tower blocks, black smoke filling up the skies
People screaming out their windows, hoping someone would hear theyre cries.
But all the world could do was to watch and pray,as these giant buildings burn
And not far away, another tragedy,as the world soon came to learn.

A third plane had struck the pentagon, with devastating loss of lives
Someones son and someones daughter, peoples husbands, peoples wives.
And as the whole world thought things couldnt get worst,on this saddest day in history
A forth plane crashed down,into a field,killing everyone instantly.

Its thought the white house was its aim,if not for the passengers on this flight
Who we’re not prepared to sacrifice, their lives without a fight.
It is known these heroes gave their lives, but not in vain as first would seem
For now the world has promised to stamp out,the terrorist regime.

Back in New York as the towers burn, thousands of lives were still at stake,
As the world so silent, praying hard to god,for all these lives please do not take.
But sadly time could not hold out,as live pictures beamed the whole world round,
Our worst fears came true,as the south tower collapsed, and crumbled to the ground.

A once symbolic tower standing proud,on a once busy New York street,
Was in seconds flat, under clouds of dust, reduced to twisted metal and concrete.
Within minutes, the North tower, this was struck by the first plane,
It too caved in,crashing to the ground, unable to withstand the strain.

No words would ever describe to you, what I felt that day inside,
I stood still in shock, frozen to the spot, as tears built up in my eyes.
Although ten thousand miles away,my heart and thoughts were there that day,
I wish to god I couldve offered more, than just the words I had to pray.

Now eight year on,not a day goes by,without a thought or prayer recited,
And to know its now made half the world, even more strongly united.
The thoughts and prayers still bellow out, across Europe from sea to shore,
And the loved one missed, forever in our hearts, now and forever more.
