dead of summer

hot. old sol works on tots or on dolts
or on old coots. no cool brooks for comfort.
hop from sod to door or cook hot foot. mood
cross from torpor. fob off work to do crosswords.
hold off on sports. don cotton shorts not wool
long johns. long for cool strolls on downtown
blocks to look for hotdogs or popcorn to chomp
down. opt for hooch. snork down grog for joy
or to drown sorrows. scotch for scots. oh to go
to or fro for coors or stroh.

I was in Barcelona for 3 nights recently.
Only 26 degrees, but I could not wait to get back to the sea near me.

I was in Barcelona February 2013. Nice temperature for walking in the old city, but not for ice cream. Loved the architecture, but the highlight of the trip was Rita's Restaurant.
