Self Prayer
Let me know myself.
I am lost
in whirling time
in swirling circumstance.
Things
are so powerful!
Draining...demanding:dictating.
Let me step back
to primitive, to nudity,
to natural wisdom;
breathe
deeply
to know the
freedom of being human
here
on the miracle
of the Earth.
Not locked
in the compulsion
of living modern
traveling
inside a car, going
online,
traveling through
the polygonal
halls of illusions:
through cities.
Let me walk
wall-less, lovely,
on naked feet,
with naked eyes
and a voice
that cries for vision;
a voice that recognizes
silence, when silence
surrounds the heart,
when silence
runs over the
whispering
river of my blood!
Let me know me
and know otherness too.
My body,
to be at home here;
my soul,
to celebrate without contraint;
to lament, to weep,
without shame.
And the sound of myself
and my own
soaring dream, openly
between earth and sky.
Now I am lost
but would now be found.
Now I am hurt
but would now be whole.
Let me, by me,
know this living sphere.
My journey
is a circle, my meander,
and I turn, on crooked
pathways, toward home.
What is raised
by these dream-
stirred footsteps?
By this passage,
what is changed
from dust to gold?
