Just feelings

Why do we feel?, to see something terrible
and feel the pain,
see a young boy crying in the pouring rain,
see lovers play and feel their joy,
see children lost and hear them cry,
watch the people at a funeral parade,
someone departed, we prayed,
and the desperation of love gone wrong,
plays in our minds a haunting song,
feelings engulf us of every kind,
hold on to the good, leave the bad behind,
how we stumble through every day, release
our feelings, no, we dare not say,
for we hold them in for our protection,
just a trickle out, come what may,
these feelings of ours that we cannot disperse,
are hidden away as we converse,,
but on occasion we allow reprieve,
to that special one, our hearts believe,
and in those moments of trusting love, we're
lifted up, to the clouds above,
this glorious time as we become one,
no fear,no guard, protection is gone,
just you and I our hearts laid bare,
with a quiet abandon that we both share.

define whippy. I think it's one of your best. Tho all the thousands of words we put here can only barely approximate our TRUE feelings we try and we stumble and search for a way to be understood and to understand. Great job!

i agree with above, this is your best, you say it's enigmatic - but so are all the feelings that touch us. the poem is lovely and flows along effortlessly, lovely to read - thanks. applause applause

Whippy; bendy/flexible, able to snap back to the original shape without breaking.
Masterful, tender rendition of the human condition.
