The Other Side

It was like yesterday back when I was 25.
What a time it was when I was in my prime.
I saw her face as she sipped on her wine.
I looked in her eyes man they were sublime.
Her smile shot through me like a ray of sunshine.
I knew I had to have her till the end of time.
I prayed to god please show me a sign.
To reassure me that she would be mine.
Back to reality and running out of time.
She whispers in my ear everything will be fine.
I close my eyes nearing the end of the line.
If I were a felon then she was my crime.
We had a great run yeah god showed me that sign.
I said those three words using only my eyes.
Then her eyes replied I'll see you later on the other side.
