postivethinker: DIVORCE Cake !!!

A piñata would be better and no children around please.
A picture of the other one has to be placed on the piñata and then everybody gets to hit the piñata.

Good therapy and 0 calories. In fact people will burn some calories with the piñata breaking.

Great idea. I have hit a pinata before. I think my friends would be up for that. A belated Divorce party, ha.

Also, I did throw darts at a paper napkin with a picture of my ex to be at a pub.

Some young couples came in and wanted to know what was going on, so I told them. Then we all had fun throwing darts at his face. I did throw one right on his nose. For some reason, I had drawn devil ears on his face. But that was kind I thought.

mjames: how is a divorce happy? kids are affected by it; it's a sad thing.

If it's a happy thing, then you should add a shrink to the party to find out why the divorced person that is partying is so bad at picking a spouse.

Our society LOVES to blame the other side when a break up occurs because it makes us look like a victim. In reality is shows bad judgement.

it's dumb to celebrate it in my opinion.

so true, why celebrate the end of something u once commited to and if there is kids involved, what kind of message is sending out to them!! meant to be the adults hereconfused

Sure it was sad the marriage ended. But it was a farce at the end. There were no children. So it is a celebration, being married to someone who had gone from someone wonderful to someone who chose to cheat and was no more committed.

One of the best days of my life was when I left my house of pain to move into a apt by myself. I was not crying, I was happy to get away from the pain.

Me, I wanted my mom to divorce my dad. He was an abusive SOB. We would have glady celebrated getting him out of our lives with a week long party and a hell of a lot of cake. Not all kids are broken up about their parents getting a divorce.

sometimes divorce is the best thing that can ever happen to a kid.

In my situation.....we weren't married so technically there was no legal divorce.

and I hate cake.

so, it was champagne for me when he finally got all his stuff out of MY house and the break up was definate.

I saw a divorce cake once.It looked pretty twisted to me.A bride was standing at the top of the steps and the groom was lying at the bottom, broken, bleeding and seemed dead.

I would hope that even if someone was thrilled to be divorced, that if they had children they would not allow them to see this. The idea that mommy would like to murder daddy could not possibly be good for them.

Exactly, that is what divorce is for. There are situations that are unbearable.

Postivethinker, were you married for 25 years like I? In the beginning did you love your wife and think it would last forever?
That your ashes would be with his when you left this earth?
I did, then a affair happened and he also got her pregnant twice.
So things do go wrong and by dammed I will eat my divorce cake and your can preach as much as you want on how I am wrong, but you cannot force your opinion on me. I have my own mind.

Exactly, Cytrynka. I am eating my cake now since I am free of a man who no longer respected me. Free to be with a man who treats me so much better. No matter how I tried to fix things, it takes 2.

I'm sure there are men who would love to have a divorce cake since women can be just as bad as men.

Hi true, when I said bad, I meant bad as in adultry and getting the person pregnant twice. That is bad.

Then I meant that women are as bad as men now (cheating). I heard of one man's wife leaving him for another married woman who had little children. Then they just left.

Then a woman just leaves his wife for another while they are married.

I know what you mean though. Marriage takes work and we all have quirks. There are plenty of marriages that last. I just happened to have been married twice both ending the same way - they cheated. I had no idea that either would. What a surprise. But it sure helps to get the divorce rolling. I can't stay with a man like that.

Ops, when I said "Then a woman just..." I meant a man just leaves his wife for another woman, then goes to another state also. Leaving the children heartbroken thinking he doesn't love them. Boy, life can stink. I hate seeing children suffer like that.

I try to live my life the right way, I'm sure they will both get what they deserve. I believe once a person cheats, they will again. The ex ended up moving to another state and likes someone new. He has not been stung yet, it will happen I'm sure.
I am just glad the drama is over, I feel stronger than before it happened. I pretty handled my part of the divorce carefully by myself.

Jeeepers: I agree with mjames. Would you throw a party to celibrate failure in school, or not being able to get a driver's license ? Why celebrate making a mistake in choosing the right spouce, or not being able to make a relationship work ?
I think it's not right. But, that is just my opinion.

Hi Jeepers - thanks for the welcome
I agree- none of my divorces were happy - but i did celebrate one with some of my co-workers - we toasted new beginnings - why not "old endings"? No kids in attendance tho -
