What if any strange things happened to you during a roadtrip? I recently got my baby Ferrari bogged by the side of a wet slippery gravel track close to the Murrumbidgee River in Hay, New South Wales. At the head of the track I saw a sign pointing the way to a dunny as I was busting for a slash I slowly made my way down the track. There was another sign that read Dry Weather Road. I didn't know the track was soft and slippery! Stupid me! I eventually got a tow out by some Hay locals. It was a very inglorious hour for me and my wee red buzzbox. Afterwards I continued on my journey to Ivanhoe 200km north of Hay.

Went from Adelaide to Port Lincoln in happier times with EX her sister and brother in law .Everything was going really well we were in the back seats of a huge 2 door holden. Then the sister in law and her hubby got in a huff with each other .And every-time they stopped they would slam the doors . We couldn't get out that damn car !!! Funny as theyd get back in to drive off and we say lets us out for a loo break
Was on the way to the Paramatta Record Fair up the Hume. Filled up at Gundagai, got to Goulburn and tried to fill the gas up, only 5c would go in, tried every other gas pump in town, still no gas would go in, went to a garage to get it checked out, mechanic said they hooked up their bottle and gas was going from my bottle into theirs. Turns out I hadn't switched the car over to gas back in Gundagai so the bottle was still full as I was still running on petrol, doh!
Brother and I riding our Valkyries between Clermont and Charters Towers in Qld. 400 odd ks with a servo in the middle. We were contentedly sitting somewhere over 190ks when we both had to switch to reserve way short of the servo. The big Val has a range of around 350 unless you are low flying like we were. The speed dropped quickly and we managed to reach the servo.
Hit an emu who decided halfway across the road that he needs to run away from me and turned to run down the road. Bang.
Another time, an emu ran out of the scrub and slammed into my rear passenger door.
Worst mishap was in the middle of WA nursing an almighty hangover on a very overcast day when we came to a T intersection where the map said we need to go straight across. I said turn right. After 2 hours going over the biggest sand dunes in WA, I had a feeling this was not the right way. Stopped for morning tea and dug out the topographical maps. Realised we were nowhere near where we should have been, so back over the giant dunes to where we turned. Went passed about 200 metres and there was the track we were supposed to be on.
