bestbefore: I was 12 when the original came out[it was in black and white] and I wept at the travesty.
Just a small reminder of the other film.Lest we forget.
Yes I actually own a copy ..... Unfortunately I got to watch a lot later as it was banned in South Africa for many years .....
"Cry, the beloved country, for the unborn child that is the inheritor of our fear. Let him not love the earth too deeply. Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs through his fingers, nor stand too silent when the setting sun makes red the veld with fire. Let him not be too moved when the birds of his land are singing, nor give too much of his heart to a mountain or a valley. For fear will rob him of all if he gives too much"
bestbefore: I have children and grandchildren Nessa and I fear for their future as I will be gone, and they will have to face a very unstable World alone.
There is still so much hatred within race that one wonders if there will ever be a united world where people stand shoulder to shoulder in peace.
I think our children are much better people than you and I are ... They are more lovely and more reasonable and can definitely take care of themselves.... More importantly they would be better candidates to spead the word of love, peace and harmony.... They too busy with ipods and computer games and Wii to worry about war and hatered .... Its this living generation that wants kill and hurt others JMO

My daughter is a peace lover and cares greatly for others. It's the little things that you do on a daily basis that are important in the grand scheme of things.
I spent most of my life caring for young children with learning difficulties, and later as a private carer for the elderly and also palliative care for cancer victims. It made me aware of my own frailties I can tell you.
When you are responsible for others in life it teaches you humility.
Take care of your daughter, and if she's anything like her Mum she'll grow up to be a real smarty pants.

Thanks BB ..... As I said before .... I have great hope for our kids and their kids to come ... My daughter is only 8 but I am sure she will have a awsome kid or kids someday .... Being positive is the first step .... All else good will follow ....

How? You mean the reference you quoted of book author Russel Kirk's contention that "Advanced societies don't just die; they either wither from within, or, like South Africa, are finished off by other western societies." is true?

What is your point?
