...just 9 balls of double knit/ and a small ammount of ribbon ......(polka.dot)...for the seams......and 4 buttons for the warmer.

Some men do this nowadays a throwback to when the Fishermen could not put to sea during the winter....Women do it mainly now...
It would be a very brave man to be knitting in public over here....if he wasn't gay or a living artwork...liable to be arrested for publicly taking the piss..
My idea to post such a poll was I watched a very very very poor fisherman who was knitting net beside a sea side somewhere here. I don’t know he was a gay or not, whether he was secure of masculinity or weird but all that I know this is a part of his profession and when he goes to the deep see taking life risk every day at mid night to supply delicious fishes in the morning market then probably his wife and children wait for him at shore… as American artist Winslow Homer’s “waiting 4 dad” I could remember!
Thanks to every one who already took part at my poll and advance thanks to them who will come in future! I wrote my idea above and every one shared their ideas basing on their own situations & experiences. This was not a riddle to solve. Rather this is a platform to share our ideas, views, news. Try saying that to a man in the U.S. Navy who ties knots; try saying that to a man who has a boat that takes men out for deep sea fishing. Even if they were gay, they are manly men Net mending and knots is not knitting lady.
I know all about fishing and deep sea fisherman thanks, my kids are products of one.
Any navy boy comes over here and starts knitting in public, I'll be saying it to him.
