Mariannette: Mental health issues are a subject which is very dear to my heart and something I feel people are still not open enough about and those who have no personal experience of it, be it themselves or a friend/family member, can be uninformed of the facts. And at times, view those who suffer from it rather harshly.

SO...how do you feel with regards to those suffering from mental health issues?

I am giving fair warning, that I will ban anyone who tries to turn this into a 'cruel women' 'poor men' or 'the system favours women' thread.

This is not the thread for that. It is to highlight this issue and maybe help shed some light into understanding it or maybe viewing it in a different manner.
They say everyone at some time in their lives goes through a time of mental illness so many different types of it,a friend of mine developed it after coming back from the Lebanon and they just sedated him out of hes mind,so many different types of the illness ,the multiple one is scary to see that.

I missed this thread but ticked that "I think it is an illness". I'd be with others here that state I would never date a person with a mental illness. I say this because I did date someone with bi-polar disorder and it was crazy! Even my doctor questioned my reasoning behind this. He said to me that he was my physician and he was responsible for my care and he stated that he would advise me not to be in a relationship with someone with this illness. It was the best advice he ever gave me!
