Now that the clocks have changed, it will be getting very dark, very quickly, in the evenings, is there a case for changing the clocks at all? Or should we keep the one time all year around?
I said no because I think (correct me if I am wrong) if we did not go back the hour, the mornings would be darker and darker? I absolutely hate the winter, the cold, the grey days, the lack of light, the (more) rain and drizzle, not to mention the snow which makes me feel physically ill when I see it!
MarsMan: Yes they would, but at least you would still have a bit of brightness in the evening, and not have to turn on the house lights so damn early in the evenings.
well I am an awful night owl and hate getting up in the mornings, and if it is pitch dark at 730am when I normally get up for work it makes my soul cry So I prefer the dark evenings tbh, but hate driving in the dark and from tomorrow that is what I will have to do for a few months!
Do you like winter? I truly think only deviants like it

I don't think we should change the clocks, but in saying that, winter doesn't bother me. I love closing the curtains, lighting the fire and candles and just shutting the world out.......and don't even get me started on snow......I LOVE IT
I am not too keen on driving in the dark myself, mainly because of other drivers who have a clue how to dip their lights, if their effing lights are working at all!!

i voted yes ,, yes the mornings would be darker , but i prefer that bit longer of daylight in the evennings ! But like SDB --i'm up so early in the mornings -it's dark driving to work after 7-30am and dark in the evenings coming home --i hate it !!! Roll on 21 December -- days will be on the turn again ,, yippeee !
I think this whole changing the clocks business is stupid, they should just leave it alone. The province of Saskatchewan doesn't change theirs, so why should the rest of the country, or anywhere else?
aahhh but kiddo, you are my absolute favourite deviant If I was over there in minus 40 degrees with you I would still be hot and burning up

very good point ! it is infuriating , when other drivers won't dip their lights --and more to the point downright dangerous !
id prefer the lighter evenings..but as a mammy..(in the thick of winter it only gets bright at 8.30am) i dunno if id like primary kids going to school in the dark.
when i was learning to drive.. it was late evenings and dark....i dont mind dark driving at all...summertime it would be bright till 11.30pm in the height if we stayed in winter time too..that would feel odd
we have such extremes...sure we wont notice it after a week or so once our body clock adjusts.
