I posted cards this year, haven't done so in years. What prompted me is that friends and family always have done but they know I'm so bad as in some years I have and others not. I started to feel bad that they always sent them even when I didn't....just have to get into the habit, that's all.
yep ,, i wrote and addressed 57 about 2 weeks ago, and posted them last week For family and friends living away , receiving a christmas card from home ,means so much to them
Am old fashioned too....I love getting a card in the door (makes a change from bills!) and I love sending them! I send about 40 every year handwritten and posted. This year I "outsourced" it and got two 12 year olds to help....my friends abroad will think I've had a stroke when they see the handwriting

Hey F, am getting there slowly. how are you?
Oh my, 57!! My 20 are seeming very little. Mine are mostly to family and friends in England and Wales. And agree it does mean alot to receive card and catch up on what's been happening. The thought does count
sally101: I've got one more to make. I've made about thirty this year & most are going with An Post a dozen or so to hand out locally.
I usually make half of mine and buy the other half from Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust at St James Hospital. This year I was too busy, so all bought there.

i'm so glad to know you're improving a little each day L
mantlin: Sitting here writing Xmas cards to family and friends to send via snail mail. I'm wondering what do other people do.....
Do you still send cards or have you given up doing so?
I send them by post, and still write and receive proper old fashioned hand written letters, to and from friends, abroad and near. It is nice and more personal to open a card or letter written in good old fashioned biro.

I get these too, and love getting them to read. Agree on the more personal part too, though I must admit I do cheat on Christmas card letters in recent years. I type a general letter and then add more personal bits to the bottom of each letter in biro to tailor to person am sending it too

It is funny to think of biros as old fashioned, I was taught to write with ink wells. God , it seems like the dark ages.

We only got fountain pens in second standard, they were like the intel core of the seventies.
I know there were biros long before that time but the Christian brothers insisted that writing with ink produced students with good handwriting skills and it proved to be true.
fifitheminx: ive been posting cards since becoming an adult really..
I hand made 24 cards this year...added a photo of the kids in a pic with santa hats on them...also posted some others..prob 30 in total.

God bless d TXt spk Gnraton.
More time was spent perfecting handwriting then than nowadays. Times have changed, who would have dreamt we'd have text speak in years to come
