Couldn't agree more. The original French, 'Nikita,' Get Carter and Day of the Jackal have all been ruined by Hollywood.

Most remakes are disappointments because they are dumbed-down versions of the original. Add action, take away dialogue, add special effects, take away plot, add major marketing campaign and voila.

I didn't see Cheaper By the Dozen which was a remake on the link you posted.
I don't believe Parent Trap was on the of remakes either.
