Damn strange question! LOL! I always scrape the inner white pulp out with my teeth. I may eat a bit of the outer peel. In the past, on the farm, before electricity and indoor plumbing and such, citrus fruit was a real treat from town,....everything,...including seeds, was eaten,....but I alway found the peels a bit bitter,....but my breath was always citrus fresh!

Adding orange zest to a recipe is a great way to improve the flavor, but did you know that there are actually many health benefits of orange peel? Most people simply eat the orange and discard the peel, but they miss out on the nutrition contained in the peel.
Next time you eat an orange don't throw away the peel! Instead, zest a little bit of the peel to add to your favorite salad or side dish.
In brief, here are 7 health benefits of orange peel :
1. Heart Health 2. Digestive Health 3. Hangover Cure 4. Bronchitis Treatment 5. Weight Loss 6. Anti-Inflammatory 7. Bad Breath Remedy

MrRick77: Does anyone eat Orange peels ?
I don't even eat the fruit inside. According to a good friend of mine who is a doctor in Toronto, we need to eat according to our blood type. The orange is one of the fruits that my blood type shouldn't eat. If you want to know what you shouldn't eat according to your blood type, send me a message with your first name and Email address in it, and I will send you the chart that indicates what's good for us and what's not on it.
My dad used to buy chocolate covered orange peel candy. I think Brachs made it. It came in a little striped box from places like Walgreens and Jewel. I don't think they make it any more, but some times you can find it in a chocolate shop. It's good.
