I remember as a small child when the news would come on I would get scared because ol Walter would show images of the killing in Vietnam.

One thing I couldnt under stand back in 67 when I was 7 was Gorilla Warfare. I couldnt understand what Gorilla's would have to go to war about. Not enough bananas?

Then when big Bush launched desert storm I watched in awe of the bombs dropping and the ground fire going up in the sky I have to admit it was a good light show, ashamedly I have to say that I didnt think that much about the innocent people that were effected. I was caught up in the moment.

Then when little Bush invaded Iraq again I was glued to the TV but this time I was a little more aware of the innocents and what this all meant to them. Nonetheless I was still in awe. Then a few years goes by and the networks seemed to cancel that reality show. No more imbedded reports and images of war, just a few words now and then from one of the news readers.

What do you think was Vietnam and the two televised wars in the middle east good TV?

Yes, life and death in and on our lands, needs to be seen by everyone.
Everyone on this Earth needs to know what is happening to others and ourselves.
We have the right of knowledge and whoever shall deny the people of this......

Absolutely. C company on CBS in the Nam days. It was almost as good as watching Tour of Duty on TV 20 years later.

Hmm, you missed the Afghan CBS footage in the 80s huh? They had some good footage.

Yeah the light show on CNN when the old guy ordered us into Iraq the first time was pretty good stuff. Course most of those were smart bombs with their own GPS or laser guided so there weren't that many innocents zapped that time around.

We shouldn't forget the awesome footages out of Kosovo, Bosnia and Rwanda. Kept me glued to my screen.

Yeah the imbedded stuff in the Reign of Bush the younger was okay, but really they tried hard to keep the imbeddeds away from the real action. In fact I don't think there was any imbedded footage out of that cemetery the Army fought the Fedayeen (sp?) in, or the Marine fighting in Fallujah either. Had to hunt for that on the Internet then download it. Very annoying. Audiences should not have to work to see the action footage.

Al Jazeera showed some great footage (cell phone) of the final moments of Qadaffi. Enjoyed the heck out of that.

The Syrian and Egyptian things are pretty much ignored on mainstream US TV. The talking heads would much rather speak of boring criminal trials and sports news. So if you want any good footage of that you need to either go Al Jazeera TV or RT television. Course many Americans don't know how to get those channels. Having trouble deciding which has been my 'favorite' footage from Egypt so far, the woman being publicly punished (violently assaulted) in the square by the Brotherhood gangsters for being an activist, or the gun battle at the barracks. Interesting neither one aired on CNN or FOX. Still there will be more to come I am sure. Similar with Syria. Some interesting interviews too.

The best footage of both (and probably many future) conflicts is that coming from Jane or John Public who just points their cell phone at the killings and sends it to YouTube or RT. Gotta hunt for it though. Annoying, viewers being entertained at home shouldn't have to work to watch. Amusing how reporters tend to stay inside the safe zones or try to cover the wars from 2 countries away.

Seems an allowance to make one see what is unreal, yet through further study a sweeping despair of sadness.
Of un speakable crosses of many that fail.

Yet to promote an easy sling of WIN.

Yet crawl to the backstop of a winning failure.
