@ Harley: It's a beatiful shot of nature out of Halong Bay, Vietnam. People are canoeing and rock climbing! Wish you could've viewed it, you'd love it!

It's my profile pic. It's from waaaaaaay back in '95, yeah I know I'm a white haired old fart now!
But I wasn't always this stale!!
Check out my profile for a peek at some of my stone wraps. I slice, cut, shape, polish the stones & then wrap them in S-Silver, copper, red brass & yellow brass.
Here's a useless fact, naturally formed ice(like in the pic) is considered a mineral!
Those are ice stalagmites, the different layers(clear to cloudy/frosty) are determined by the temp of the day/night the ice formed in.
I bet you would like the caves in Carlsbad, NM. You should google that. That should be one of the 7 wonders of the world, it's amazing! So should the Grand Canyon.

Yeah I'll bet Carlsbad is cool(haha, get it?), ehrmmm... sorry! There is also a cave with monstrous selenite(gypsum) crystals(20-30ft long) in a cave that was discovered in, I think it's Naica, Chihuahua, Mexico, in a huge Silver/Zinc mine there. You can google cave of swords or cave of crystals, Mexico & find it, there are several caves they've open during the mining there. The gypsum cave was full of water & they drained it to go in & check it out. National Geographic did a show & an article on it, I think it's close to 1 mile deep. They're going to seal the cave & let it refill as the crystals were starting to degrade without the selenite solution they were supported in. Very cool!!
I know a married couple, friends( I grew up next door to the guy) of mine that are interpretive Rangers at the Grand Canyon. I think it is one of the 7 wonders of the world(I could be wrong about that, it's happened many times before)!!! Ranger Ron & Ranger Pat.

Yeah that is my namesake here. He was a 190lbs. pure Great Dane half lap dog, as he could only get half of himself on my lap. hahaha He loved to set on my lap or in that chair in front of the wood stove in winter & doze off, you can see it's snowing outside. What a Grand Noble Old Soul he was/is!!!!
The woodpecker is a Pileated woodpecker that was on a stump in my front yard. Sadly, I couldn't get close enough to get a god pic of it. It was about 10 or12 inches tall. They are crested like woody woodpecker(this is the bird woody was fashioned after), & have a similar laughing/call.
