I'm not certain that anything definitive has been determined re. 'putting us in another war" yet, has it?

However, not being totally familiar with Obama (and his policies, in particular, domestic performance), a President is voted in and, therefore, is deemed to reflect the wishes and decisions of the majority of the people. If he/she does not perform/delivery to the satisfaction of the people, he/she is out and is replaced by someone believed to be better. So, there is a lifespan, and democratic choices made.

I heard about Miley Cyrus recently. Supply and demand..... it appears its what people want of their celebrities and what is subliminally force-fed to the public then becomes a belief that this is what they want, and accept. The boundaries, therefore, are increasingly widened as to what is considered acceptable/unacceptable. Manipulation on a massive scale and ultimately very dangerous. The celebs are subscribing to this although some may not be aware, care, or (in the interests of greed, fame and 'its part of the business, darling'). In comparison, there is no democratic vote on this other than by the public/fans deciding not to subscribe. That's not going to happen coz after all..... its now what they want. Celebs these days glamourise lifestyles that people now think may be within their grasp and hugely desired whereby 20/30/40 years ago such aspirations were just accepted as unattainable.

Worse in my view?

I can make my vote count (UK democracy, of course) and, hopefully, make a difference.

I can ignore the likes of Ms Cyrus, who has no significance nor influence in my life but then I'm 51. If I was, say, 15-25......?
