I have to agree. The resale value on rings is extremely sad. Someone I know sold their engagement ring for a mere $900 and it retailed for over $3500 .... I think its about being smart. The other assumptions about his character - well to each his own.If she doesn't know and he can save himself a bit of money ,maybe to buy a few beers , cant see the problem .
