Rome- Italy. Piazza Venezia - Altare Della Patria ( Altar of the Fatherland ). If you zoom and look closely there are two soldiers up there, I was one of them 1989-1990 .
LadyDiz2: Absolutely loved Positano and Sorento. But Capri was something special, too.
I love those locations too, especially the views along the little footpaths in Capri.
It took me some time to get used to driving along the coast there, though, on those cliff-hanging narrow roads between Napoli and Amalfi. It was interesting as well, to see the graffiti and local art displayed on the walls and public benches at rest stops.
Then, it seemed like everyone living there must be in love. I kept reading 'Ti Amo' (so and so), everywhere.
galrads: I believe that 'Amalfi is a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in the region of Campania, Italy, on the Gulf of Salerno.'
You absolutely right man, its like Arzachena - Sardegna and Sassari - Sardegna. Arzachena its a town and Sassari its a city. If you get the chance to go to Sardegna don't miss Costa Smeralda. One of the best seas around in Europe.

I don't know why, but while thinking of Amalfi, I recall the town of Largo as depicted in the 1973 American Western movie 'High Plains Drifter' starring Clint Eastwood
