I think the main cause of relationship break-up is because both in the relationship are human beings. Always a crazy mix, when that species start the mating rituals.

Isn't so ironic that so many species in the animal kingdom have a far greater sense of monogamy than humans, and they mate for life and if one dies there are even some that never mate again. How ironic we are the "intelligent species" and so called "top of the food chain", and some even claim to be "omniscient" Hmm

The vast majority of animals are not monogamous though. They mate and move on. If human offspring didn't take so long to mature and become independent, maybe humans wouldn't feel the need for it either. Maybe it is simply for practical purposes rather than innate?

Does any other species have religious beliefs? some has suggested that moralizing and religion has been the worst thing for human relationships.
