Ok here is what I propose , a standard 50 book challenge , for those of you that don’t know a 50 book challenge is a common enough thing, the basics are you set your self a goal of reading 50 books in a year (if you think 50 is way too high for you ,you can always set a lower number for your self) We could start on Monday , you keep a list of what you have read and post it every time you add a book (I will start a thread for it on Monday) with a few words about what you thought about your latest read (no spoilers )
I am not sure if there will be many people interested in this

I love to read aswell so would be delighted to join in. Depending on the material, 50 books isnt a lot for an avid reader. Some books can be slow going though.
i'm up for it too. just finished a book called ANGELS IN MY HAIR, by Lorna Byrne... it's about a woman who claims she is in tune with her angels, and sees them all the time. was written abit too much like a fairytale for my liking though.

It's waht ever material you like/want to readIf some one want's to make it more or less that's fine as long as they set "A" goal and declare it
thehearld: ok im in, how about another rule, the book has to be over 200 pages long?
This is a challenge not a competition so the rules are pretty lax (ie you set them to challange your self) if you want to set that rule for your self fine (most people will be sticking to it on account of the fact that most books are over 200), but there are a few of the classics under 200 (slaughter house 5 and the catcher in the rye spring to mind)
Yep what ever you want to read a lot of people use these challenges to read some of the books that are a little out of their comfort zone (ie some of the classics)
I just finished "Shadow of the Wind", set in Barcelona in 1950's - very different with type of book and truly entertaining with intrigue, romance and baddies - was superb read - highly recommend it - The author is Carlos Ruiz Zafon and it is translated as origionally written in Spanish

Only seen forum now but would be keen to participate. Half way thru one so presume that counts.

I applaud the idea, crotalus. unfortunately, even if i count the laughably-entitled simple quantum physics which i never finished and a scattering of maths text books i doubt i've read 50 in total so won't be joining in. (i have written a play, though, if anyone runs short of material...)
