"Falling in love is just a transient psychosis. The often used term 'love is blind' gives a clue, even Cupid is depicted wearing a blindfold. In adolescence we can succumb to this state of mind, or state of madness on a regular basis, maybe once or twice a week, but fortunately this psychosis is usually temporary. Later in life this may not be the case. The unbalanced mind overcome by infatuation, obsession and attachment can easily be tipped into deep depression, stalking, even homicide or suicide."

The obvious 'poles apart' differing view of science and Humanity aka 'real people'?

CnP Wiki Psychosis
Psychosis is an abnormal condition of the mind that results in difficulties determining what is real and what is not. Symptoms may include false beliefs and seeing or hearing things that others do not see or hear. Other symptoms may include incoherent speech and behavior that is inappropriate for the situation. There may also be sleep problems, social withdrawal, lack of motivation, and difficulties carrying out daily activities. Psychosis has many different causes. These include mental illness, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, sleep deprivation, some medical conditions, certain medications, and drugs such as alcohol or cannabis. One type, known as postpartum psychosis, can occur after giving birth. The neurotransmitter dopamine is believed to play a role. Acute psychosis is considered primary if it results from a psychiatric condition and secondary if it is caused by a medical condition. The diagnosis of a mental illness requires excluding other potential causes.Wikipedia

Yet some people have found 'love' that lasts all of their lives ... maybe some of these (so called 'learned' ) psychologists should ... oh, never mind !

Of course some people find love to share with another that lasts a lifetime and they probably did 'fall in love' at the beginning of the relationship.
But that feeling of being in love, or falling in love is always temporary. The honeymoon period as we sometimes call it always ends sooner or later, the 'falling' cannot last.

There has to be a landing and quite often it's a crash landing.

At this point the relationship either ends as the realisation that the 'other' who we have invested all this emotional energy in is not the magical other we have search for and wanted for so long. They are not the perfection we have projected onto them, or them onto us, how could we be?

Or, we accept those feelings could not last forever and allow a more meaningful kind of love to developed. Some people call this, working on the relationship."
Couples can and do developed true meaningful love for each other that can last a lifetime, but only after the heady journey of falling in love has transcended into something much more special and much more loving.....but those true loving relationships are in the minority.
