I prefer going to a small place to have coffee and conversation. I want to be able to hear what he says so no loud music. The advantage of going for coffee or tea is that if the conversation sours the meeting was set for something that takes only a few minutes to drink thus you can end it politely. If the conversation goes well then you can order dinner or go someplace else for the evening.
All of my meetings with men from single sites have been just for coffee. I was glad that it was planned that way because as we said in a thread the other day, you know within minutes if there is a genuine interest in that person.
I have gone to museums. I did a walk through Central Park in New York City. I like to go for a walk on a beach. I had a lunch date at a restaurant. I had dinner in a nice restaurant. My favorite was a hike through a national park around a lake and we found a water fall. Any place where the lady feels comfortable and we have time to talk and look into each other's eyes.
Wrap my arms around her and spin her around once while pressing my cheek tightly to hers and whispering "I love you" into her ear, then go find a park in which to sit and talk of what we would do for the rest of the day, maybe have a small picnic (meal on a blanket)while doing that. After that... walking on the beach hand in hand or arm in arm, just enjoying the feeling of having her near me would make anything we did a wonderful experience. So I voted for "go for a walk"

I thought you were going to go for broke when in public.
What happened to your animal instinct you little devil I'm kidding shed
Sommerauer71: Talk, walk, eat, then race home and rip each other's clothes off.
It is simple.
Movies? Why on earth do people want to go to the movies on a first date, sit in silence and the dark and unable to talk...
I can never get my head around that.
Movies are for togetherness and you are at home, with toes curled up, wrapped in each other's arms...
Hi Sommer I agree, movies are not where I would want to go on a first date. How do get to learn about a person when your both listening to someone else.

I know a nice place just down the road, on the lake. Good clam chowder and live music on the weekend.
