It's regional. I grew up in NH and there it was soda. I moved to SW PA and here it's pop. Both genders in each case, so I didn't vote in your poll.

Most buffets and fast food joints usually have what is called a 'soda' fountain... I've never heard it called a 'pop' fountain. I'll have a Dr. Pepper with that!!

In appalachia,back in the 1950s all soft drinks were referred to as "dopes".Maybe that stems from the widely held theory that early coca-cola contained cocaine.

being from the north to me its pop. it took me some getting use to, in tn its soda, and if you ask for a coke you may get sprite.

in my country,in my place ,we have a different type of swimming pool and there is a soda pool, taste of soda,pop cola we have too ,its same taste of dr pepper or root beer..
