The Republican and Democratic Party are really the only parties in the US that have any say or real power. And it seems over recent years that these two parties are really alike. None of them really have a strong stance on most issues, they are just against whatever the other party wants. So, do you think it is time that their be more active and stronger political parties in US Politics?
ukrainegary48: we need to fire both partys. and start over again.
Can't exactly "fire" the parties...but yeah would be good to get some other parties into congress, then hopefully no one party will have completely control, and the only way to do anything will be by working together.

better idea. we cant fire them. but we can vote them out of office.

Then with all the bickering no decisions would get made about anything, which ironically would probably be the best result for all .......
Why don't you guys who find the system to be so distasteful run for office yourselves? I have certainly thought about it myself.
We do and have had more than two parties in the US. The parties have evolved over the years to the point that Abraham Lincoln would probably not recognize his party today. More than two parties are on most ballots. Unlike some countries, we can vote for the person, not just the party.

It would be nice to know if the people who talk the most are active in any government/party activities. It is easy to talk a game; it is a lot harder to walk the walk.

Good Question. I personally can say that I follow politics, the various issues, and that I vote.
I am not running for office, but I am not old enough and I don't feel I have the experiences for a leadership position yet. But, in the future, maybe I will
