We are often told to listen to our heart. Well, I agree. Many times my intuition worked for me. And it is rather difficult to follow mind or common sense. However how can I distinguish when I am right when listen to my heart and when I am merely deceiving myself?
If you mean "gut feeling" or intuition by "heart", then yes.
The heart itself is often full of wishful thinking and can be deceived. But intuition is more often then not right. So I always listen to that, and it has served me well.

No matter what my heart wants to do or yearns for, I never ignore that sick feeling in my stomach that something isn't right, or that something doesn't add up. That's my brain working, IMO, or more specifically, my mental roladex nudging me to say "You idiot. You've made this mistake before, you're not really going to put yourself through it again, are you?"
